Batfish: a common name for several species of anglers. The
numerous species live on the bottom, usually in shallow marine
waters. The arm-like pectoral fins, thought by some to resemble bat
wings, are used for walking along the bottom; batfish are poor
swimmers. Ironically, in the Coral Reef Tank you typically find them
swimming towards the surface |
